I got my husbando todayXD I think the Saitama rah is really awesome.^^ For me it doesen´t stink so much, I am one of those people who like the scent of new rubber/plastik stuff XD Whatever, the cape buttons are a bit loose like you wrote and thank god I read your review so I noticed that the cape is extra fixed behind the plastic display. It is my first rah(I own a pullip doll but it´s quality is bad) so I am positive surprised of the joints movability or I have low claims lol
the serious head has some small black stains on the back I couldn´t remove with water. I love the poseable cape, the movable zipper hook, the small buttons on his pajama jacket and the bare feet with the toes joint.
All in all I love the figure, lets see how long life the hero suit is >< it had already wrinkles when I removed the gloves and shoes. But as long it doesen´t peel, it is ok for me. Oh, and my specimens rubber body doesen´t peel, but it looks it could start soon around his collar bone area>< All in all I am glad I buyed Saitama and he is wearing his pajamas now and standing on my book shelf XD

maggie2 года назад#30989348OK I'm posting photos... I played with him a bit, and after sniffing around it seems it's his yellow outfit and his rubber torso that are the smell culprits. The torso especially... it reminds me of when my dad would polyurethane the hardwood floors, a very strong smell, and I didn't feel too great after an hour of play when I put him away, not sure if it was the fumes or what. Posing him was like a nendoroid, things were falling and popping off left and right, rather frustrating. Bare feet had a much better joint and range of motion than the boots. Little touches of quality just seem to be missing wherever I look when I compare him to an older RAH, and the newer RAHs are much nicer than the old ones so that needs to be considered as well.
Pros:
Good range of motion
Good likeness for serious face
Jammies are fun
Like the bare feet
Some fun to be had
Nice amount of hands/accessories
On sale
Cons:
Red feet keep popping off
Hands keep falling off
Neck joint stuck in standard face (so defective)
Derp face is wonky with the standard body proportions
Smells bad
Rubberized torso inhibits motion, causes bounce back when posing
Outfit is coated and will peel
...

I´ll order it^^ thank you for uploading the photos, now I have a picture of the quality, but for the price it is ok I think. Have all those RAHs the same body height???

CienFleurs2 года назад#30989143Thank you for the review! It does sound pretty bad XD It would be cool to see some photos.
I took a look at the site again and they dropped the price to $99.99! It has the same price as the only-hero-suit version now. Perhaps nobody really wants the pajama Saitama? I am a bit afraid that it will be sold next days.

Outfit is coated and will peel
Neck is peeling?
Hands are a shiny, bendier plastic
Belt buckle doesn't always stay hooked fully
Rubber torso glued and not fitted to waist well (minor gripe as you won't see it but so many things speak to the low quality of this item)

I really wish they had given him a head in between the other two. Flipping through the manga, he does wear a dumb expression a lot, but it's not entirely on the full DERP egghead. When he goes full egghead his proportions usually change, so the fact that they gave him a full egghead just doesn't fit with the body proportions (Figma has this problem too). I understand this kind of character that is always shrinking and expanding is probably hard to deal with and downright problematic, but I'm sure something could have been done... he's got all that rubber on him, they could have made it removable.

Takeaway: not worth retail, $100 or under I think is OK for the fun factor providing you can stand the smell and you understand that most likely, the rubber will crack and his outfit will peel, or with this quality his joints may go first. If you are only going to display him in a case I don't think he looks high quality enough to stand next to a nicer RAH or Hot Toys (hands are shiny rubber-y looking, head doesn't entirely match neck color, neck looks peel-y, fabric isn't great, etc). Kind of like putting a 'China version' figure next to a really nice scale by GSC or Max Factory, WHS or what have you.

On a personal note I'm wondering what to do, I am returning the defective one but am considering re-buying simply because I know I can tinker with him, mod him, etc. I keep imagining the fun factor here but I also feel dumb for ignoring how blatantly bad he is. I guess I'm just wishing he was better and am stuck on what he could have been, rather than what he is. Also I agree with The-Hurricane that there just isn't a good Saitama on the market that looks close enough to perfect so we're left picking at scraps and settling for less than we should.

maggie2 года назад#30989070It smells... real bad. Not like when you open a display case and you get a whoosh of PVC smell, this smells like a chemical factory that I would never want to visit. I am actually returning mine because of the broken neck joint (well, it’s stuck in the serious face but that’s not helpful and I don’t not want to have to fix it every time) and I’m not sure I’ll be repurchasing . Honestly, I don’t think he’s worth $120. If he goes on sale further for like, under $100, I’ll consider it but all the problems are just too much. I’ll post some pictures. I do think I’d have fun with him, if I wasn’t worried about his rubber deteriorating, breathing in that smell, worried for more joints to go, or fretting over when his hero costume will start peeling. Not made to last imho. Also I forgot to mention, the way his belt clips it won’t stay fully attached and that doesn’t help aesthetically either. My husband said, “a showcase item like that should look high-quality, and it doesn’t. Put it away I can’t take that smell and wash your hands” LOL My hands did smell after I handled him, worrisome.
Most of my RAHs I got on sale for around $120-130 and I consider them much better than this ThreeZero failure.

I thought obout ordering the training version, becaus I like the pajama and the price seems fair, but after reading your experiences I am not sure if it is worth buying it...
but like you wrote, it´s cool, that the version has bare hands and feet^^
I am really unsure XD

The-Hurricane2 года назад#30988846Oh man the smell, that was something I forgot to talk about entirely in my frustration! To top things off as well my Genos is broken too. :/ I've been told it will take about 4 months to fix, and I either deal with the long wait time or I have to return the doll in full for a refund to buy it elsewhere, but the exclusive version (that I bought), is sold out and you can only get it for astronomical prices anymore.
I wish I could properly put into words how horrible this company tends to be. I think the mixed reviews come from people who get their more simple designs that aren't anime based properties. ThreeZero seems to do "okay" on realistic dolls, although they don't hold a candle to some of the other well-known companies doing the same thing. In addition I think it's people who just aren't picky and/or knowledgeable about differing material qualities in 1/6 scale figures. If you don't collect a lot of them and handle them from different companies a ThreeZero figure can seem perfectly serviceable as long as you're not familiar with what actual quality materials feel like.
The OPM property has just been handled like garbage in general though. Genos feels cheap and plasticky too in addition to my copy being broke. x__X The company doesn't give a shit, it's so clear they do everything half-assed.
maggie2 года назад#30905385I broke down and bought one myself... $119 with free shipping seemed like a good way for me to see Three Zero quality myself, as I hear mixed reviews and have been wary of purchasing.
I like the pajamas more than the oppai outfit, actually, because you shouldn’t have any range of motion limitations in them (not that he’s fighting a lot in his casual outfit but still). I HATE buying RAHs and having their clothes hinder all the fun, it’s immensely frustrating for me. I’ve got a hoodie and jeans from a RAH I can try out as well. His egg head always bothered me on this one, might take a shot at modding it but my husband pointed out the problem may be that the neck looks too large with that head on it.
Additionally, with the thinkgeek version you get all the hands the exclusive version has, which to me is a huge boon as you can put him in any clothes you like and won’t have to worry about the gloves. Plus bare feet are articulated and may be harder to find, while you can pick up sneakers for dolls pretty easily. Just my 2 cents, and another reason I bought him :-)
