I'm back again with another tiny haul! This time instead of RPG toys it's figures. I finally received my order from Mandarake, which honestly showed up here in record time. A day after I paid my invoice I received a shipping notification, and the day I checked my tracking information the packaged had already made its way to New York City. There was a slight delay as I should have had the package on Friday but this was more of a DHL error than Mandarake's. The truck driver never stopped by my house on their route on Friday when my package was set to be delivered, but I'm guessing that they didn't have time to finish the route. My package arrived early this morning. Oh, well. One day of a delay isn't so bad in comparison to how fast it took the package to arrive from Shibuya to New Jersey.

The first figure I'm going to show off is a figure from Sailor Moon. This is a Sailor Pluto figure from the Banpresto Girls Memories line. In my last article, I wrote about the Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus ones I received from Lunar Toy Store. Some people may find this figure line a tad basic and not as pretty looking, but I really have enjoyed the Girls Memories line a lot. It brings me such nostalgia every time I look at them. This is my first ever order from Mandarake and I honestly am very impressed. I truly don't mind purchasing anything secondhand as long as the condition is good.

Luckily in my case, this figure was unopened and sealed in the original packaging. On Mandarake's listing for the item, they said that the box had damage but when I opened up my package I saw no damage whatsoever. I'm not one of those collectors that display the boxes unless the item has interchangeable parts, so even if the box was pretty damaged it wouldn't have bothered me much. I do have one slight concern but it isn't a super large one. Upon opening the box I noticed a strong mildew scent, almost like a wet smell. However, upon inspecting the box and the figure I couldn't see any sort of mold. The figure was a tad smelly, even in the plastic but it really isn't overpowering and I don't really plan to give my figures a sniff anytime soon. I'm assuming that the figure has just been sitting in the store for quite some time and may just have some sort of an old scent to it.

The next two figures were something very interesting that I found on eBay. My boyfriend ordered these for me actually, and the day after it shipped the box arrived at his house! I was shocked! I'm unsure if it had anything to do with the eBay seller being based in Brooklyn or not, but still it's almost as if Barry Allen just dropped it off himself. Anywho, back to the eBay listing. I had found a seller that listed two figures as a set for a really low price and I just had to jump on it. Luckily, my boyfriend didn't mind making the purchase for me. :3 These are the SP Figures of Umi and Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth. If you haven't heard of it, it's an oldie but a goodie (I prefer the manga series but the anime is alright, too) and I really recommend it especially if you love the work by CLAMP.

These figures are honestly super beautiful and I really love these a lot. The detail is super nice and they look great on display. I think the way that both of the characters' hair is sculpted is my favorite part about these. The fact that they were a bundled deal also was really amazing since I've seen these figures listed singly for the price I paid for both of them. $77.00 for two and free shipping? I truly don't see how one could go wrong with that.

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and I'll be back with another loot post this week! ^o^ Ja ne!

kiisara2 месяца назад#78596865It did! I'm expecting another one on Thursday, too! Oh, wow that makes so much sense. That's great of them to do that. It was just confusing to me at first because I was like, 'Hm, the box looks in tact.' Actually it doesn't seem to smell so bad anymore and there was nothing mold like on the figure itself so I think it's okay. I had noticed what some people were saying about inconsistencies on the paint job though for Sailor Pluto. It kind of almost looks like when a spray tan gets splotchy on certain parts of the body. It's not terribly noticeable but it seemed to happen to everyone that bought it.

So the reason why Manda puts the label "package damaged" is that Japanese collectors are extremely cautious and meticulous when it comes to identifying any issues; even if it is a minor dent or tiny scratch (that most of us wouldn't really care about unless you want to display the box). I appreciate their transparency and dedication to reporting the issues beforehand. As for the smell, you might want to aerate the box and figure a bit in the sun (or outside) before keeping it inside. Mildew is not fun to take care of. Otherwise, nice haul! Never hear of the other older anime/manga, I will have to check it out! :)

MartinTremolada2 месяца назад#78561111Great stuff! Those MKR figures were the first ones I bought ever! I love them as well and still have them as part of my displayed collection. My favorite one of the set is definitely Fuu. The quality is amazing for a prize figure released at the time. You can see my set in the back of this pic:

Sorry for the delayed reply! Thank you! So, I probably won't be getting Fuu any time soon because she actually never grew on me as a character, hahaha. Her figure does look cool, though. I think she's actually the most expensive one out of the three? I did check the prices out of curiosity and it was a bit more than I expected looking at the single prices for the other two.
