victorviper (1 месяц назад) #57365317My Sanya figure is ITEM #26563, the original Alter one. Because I like that figure well enough, and they didn't make a matching Eila to go with Rocket Booster Sanya, getting that alternate Sanya was never a super high priority.
Alter Lynette and Perrine are great figures, but IMO the Alter Eila is merely OK. It's well made, but something about it is just...lacking. If I had it to do over again, I might have chosen to get the Koto Eila ITEM #30531 instead, as the Koto Eila has a more interesting and dynamic pose.
ITEM #284 will make an interesting review. I hovered over the link and said "why would that be a complicated figure?" but then I saw the base :).

I might want the original Alter Sanya one day as well, as I'm going to keep this one clothed in the winter coat, so she would be a nice addition. :)

Yeah with both Eila and Minna it might have been better to pick up Koto's versions, but right now I'm committed to the Alter line, so I don't know if I want Eila to be the only one with a different base than the rest. :/ Although I have been thinking (because I got so many big and small Strike Witches figures and items now) to make a seperate shelf for each girl and then it won't matter if they are non-matching. From the ones I mentioned I think I want Perrine the most now. I recently unboxed her Nendoroid and it made me remember how much I like her character. :)

Hehe, it's actually not even the base! It's the ribbons! All those ribbons are a seperate piece and you put one in, the next one falls out, have 2 carefully in and try the 3rd...bam, 2 fall out again. Makes you want to grab the glue, but then she won't fit back in her box anymore! Really frustrating! Her base is not easy either, but it's simple compared to how dramatic those ribbons are... :') I have been thinking about reviewing her as well, as in general it's an very affordable, big and high quality sculpt/paint figure...just...some assembly issues. Similar to this Sanya reviewed here being near perfect except for the assembly being a huge mess.

Maakie (1 месяц назад) #57340962I also was mistaken, I thought you owned Rocket Booster Sanya, but you own the 1.0. I assume the 1.0 is just one big static figure and not anything like this one?

Another 'horrible assembly' figure in my collection is ITEM #284 , I have her in the back of my storage, because I want her to be the last to get unboxed again...

victorviper (1 месяц назад) #57297307You pointed out a number of things I'd never noticed about this figure, like the fit of her ears/antenna, the weird notch in the coat, etc. If Alter had made an Eila in her winter coat to go along with Sanya, I probably would have double dipped for this figure to go with my Sanya 1.0.
I see that ITEM #315078 is still on your wishlist. When I did my review of that figure, you mentioned that you were evaluating whether to get than Sanya-Eila pair. Have you decided?
When you mentioned the complicated nature of Sanya's assembly, I immediately thought of my experience with ITEM #42448. At least Alter included an instruction sheet; Orchid Seed didn't include one with that figure, and she has about 100 parts!

Ah man, an Eila winter coat would have been great! I can only hope right now to find ITEM #116970 affordable one day. I also was mistaken, I thought you owned Rocket Booster Sanya, but you own the 1.0. I assume the 1.0 is just one big static figure and not anything like this one?

ITEM #315078 still has my attention, but as it has shot up in price on the aftermarket, I rather focus on some 'missing' Alter girls in my collection right now like ITEM #78646 , ITEM #61366 or ITEM #78644 , which can all be found for below release price. :) I'm only a bit low on figure budget right now because of some rare things showing up on Suruga-Ya that I really wanted. ;)

ITEM #42448 is also still on my wishlist! I like her design, but then I remember your and other collectors' stories about her assembly. :P At least she hopefully stays together once you assemble her? Another 'horrible assembly' figure in my collection is ITEM #284 , I have her in the back of my storage, because I want her to be the last to get unboxed again...
