So today the mailman arrived with my package destroyed by a car.

I didn't post any more pictures to spare the awful view, but the preview picture of the blog is an actual picture...

For obvious reasons I didn't received the package nor signed anything, I just took those pictures before the mailman left.

I already sent the pictures to the store and asked about the insurance included, but now I'm afraid of something else: a friend told me he once read here that someone had a similar problem and asked about the insurance, and what the store did was to ban their account... has someone heard about this before? I worry because this store is the one I prefer to use more, I even have quite a number of points I've been saving from all the orders I buy from them.

If someone is curious the items in it were the ones linked to this blog.

*sigh :'( *

abi4 года назад#3967871Yes, is sad that because of some people doing things the wrong way all the other customers have to pay. As far as I know from others experiences, CdJapan is a good site for this type of issues; they'll send a replacement right away with packages being missed or lost in any way

it is, because of others abuse we get punished. But when they make exceptions for one they have to do it for all. The world we live in is just incorrect in many ways. Also tbh I have to say that I do understand it if people abuse it. Cuz everything is so expensive and people just don't earn enough to say whatever, they just try to force things. When it comes to bigger companies I'm different as well. I WILL complain about thé smallest thing. Figure box opened when it's suppose to be new, even if it's not damaged or anything. While I mostly skip details a bit when it's from a fellow collector (depending on price ... again, of course)

I was kind throwing that out there. But yeah it has happened with several sites, where they just ban or ignore you for that. Most sites don't ban instantly but will ignore mails like that, sadly enough.
A site I use (but I'm not sure whether they ship everywhere tho) is AMAZING with their service when it comes to not received packages, damaged packages, damaged items and so on. But then you have the problem of people missusing that service, which leads to sites doing drastic things like banning, ignoring, etc. However I think the fact that it was sent back will make a difference, they might wait until they received it back to answer tho. As far as I know how some sites work, can't really say more than that :(

layla-weston904 года назад#3967850Quite true really, I have heard some scary stories about the Postmen in my country mishandling and severely damaging people's packages, I always make sure I have the insurance on my packages just in case but so far my Postman has been really decent with my packages!
I mean we entrust the postman to safely deliver our packages and mail but sometimes that doesn't happen >.<

It's not only the mailmen tho. Pretty much anyone, anywhere handling packages, lugage and what not. There are always people that just have no respect for other people's property. You can just YouTube it and see lots of places being totally reckless with things. When it comes to packages, I try my best to keep my mailbox empty and be home so I can receive the package so that it won't be left behind at my door or rammed back into the car.
There have been lots of times where I've wanted to litterally kick the mailman in the face for dropping my package on the floor.

abi4 года назад#3967847I didn't intend the store to pay for it, but to assist with the claim process, as far as I know, they have to make a claim to the post office on their side too. That is why I sent them pictures and specified I didn't received the package because of the condition. But a friend told me he read here someone was banned for asking about insurance procedures, which was my question here, if someone knew something about that case because he said it was a long time ago.

abi4 года назад#3967845That is actually a good thing to know! I found it strange when my friend told me that because I only had good service from them. I didn't took in the package or signed anything, I just took the pictures and told the mailman I was not going to receive it in that condition due to the insurance and all. I sent first the mail with the pictures to AmiAmi and then my friend told me about what he once read, but with your comments I'm hopeful that situation was just a misunderstanding

I do agree that I haven't seen or heard of anyone getting banned from AmiAmi due to this issue =/
But I haven't seen this post that you mentioned either, but I do know that if they ask for help with a damaged item or package that would be a silly reason to ban the person, but if they were pretty nasty and rude about the situation then that's a different matter....

Kosura4 года назад#3967839Personally think this is actually bad handling by mailman/customs/etc. Also it's the post office that has to pay up for insurance and such not the company where you bought the item from.
I've been afraid of things sent to me without insurance but now and then I do take the risk. This is a huge risk concidering the mailman aren't really known to be carefull with packages.

I actually also received a damaged EMS package two days ago though nothing was destroyed, just had some severely crushed boxes of acrylic charms and a dented nendoroid box.
